Transmission -$3K???
Hi,
My car has done 117K miles (double checked . I took my car to AAMCO as I had diagnostic done for engine light.
Currently, at AAMCO they determined
Transmission fluid is burnt and they need to open up the car
I got two different quotes
This is the mechanics description
Hard part (external electrical componenets, smaller parts) - $850 - $1000
Soft parts (Internal clutch, solenoid pump) - (this is complete replacement) $2300-$2600
=============================
Now isn't $2600 pretty close to Honda's cost for replacement someone told me they do it for $3000 ?
Isn't AAMCO over pricey here ?... would it be better to go to a honda certified dealership ?

You might want to try and get their fleet rate pricing. I was able to get an AAMCO to agree to to a rebuild for 2700 dollars with a 3 year 50k mileage warranty with the option to extend it to a lifetime warranty for 500 bucks any time within that 3/50k warranty period.
