The 98-02 had major transmission problems due to a design problem. From what I read, one of the bearings would fall apart and clog up the fluid lines causing the transmission to fail.

The 03-07 accords seem to have pretty reliable automatic transmissions. Honda had to correct the problem. Not sure what they did.

Honda has improved there Transmissions. In the mid 90's to early 2000's they have bad Torque Convertors which will clog the trans filter and give a delayed engagement or loss of engagement (usually coming to a stop) and the bearing problem is a Thrust Brg. In the 2nd/4th drum assy. You will have to replace/update the Drum assy. with the overhaul of the Transmission and Yes flush the system.

But thanks for the answer, I just wanted to know what would happen in such case, even if it will NEVER happen to me
I should have added...."With proper care and proper fluid"....I'm going to edit my post and add this.
