Default Transmission Axle Seal

I replaced both axles and had to remove driver's side axle to replace the transmission seal that wasn't leaking before I replaced the axle. Two weeks later, the axle is dripping transmission fluid from where it connects into the transmission. I replaced the seal with a new Beck/Arnley seal. I have never replaced a seal before, are there any guidelines to ensure it is installed correctly. I removed it easy enough. I used a socket extension with an appropriately sized socket to drive the new seal until it was flush with transmission. Should this be a genuine Honda part. Any experience?

so, you are saying you replaced both axles then two weeks later developed a leak from the driver side axle seal? then you replacled it and so far so good?

it sounds like you installed it correctly. when installing the axle you need to be sure your centering it properly, otherwise you can damage the seal. there is a spring around the inside of the seal that keeps tension on the axle. it's easy to knock it off if your not careful.

I replaced the axles not the seals, two days laternoticed leak on driver's side, removed driver's axleand replacedseal, two weeks later,I now have same leak. I used a socket to seat the new seal. Is there a specific tool that is recommended. Perhaps, I knocked that spring?

it's possible...it's also possible the axle is the wrong one for the car? is it a honda replacement?
it's also possible the transmission carrier bearings are shot, and there is too much play. the axle seal can seal that.
