Hi all,

Had my first accord, and 09 LX Auto for about a week now. I noticed that when i back out of the driveway in reverse, come to a stop then drop it into drive, i hear a moderatly loud clunk/clicking noise when it enganges into drive.

Is this normal, or do I need to take a trip to a dealer?

My 08 Ridgeline makes no such noise.

I have an '09 with a little bit of noise also. I guess I need to listen to it more closely someday and see if it warrants bringing it in. If yours is a huge noise I guess I'd question it. Can never hurt to at least be on record with your dealer as questioning it in case something happens in the future. Let them tell you it's nothing. Someday if it goes your at least in their computer as being in for noise. If you go in please check back and let us (me) know what they told you.

 

If they say it's normal, have them show you the same noise in a couple other new 2009 cars.
