Is there a transmission fluid that can be used from an auto parts store or do you have to use the DW-1 fluid from the stealership.

DEBATE started....Anyway I don't mind giving my two cents.

Two fluids on a Honda I NEVER want to mess with. IF the manual calls for Honda trans fluid (Z1, beging replaced by DW1), use it...I've seen Honda trans fluid at CARQUEST. Second, the power steering fluid, only use Honda APPROVED fluid, not the universal stuff, must say approved for Honda/Acura.....as far into this as I want to go.

 

do not even waste a second thinking about it ,,,, Honda tranny fluid used to be atf-z1 now it is atf dw1, i know that it is not cheap but all you need is 3 qts and you replace it every 30k miles ,,, trust me,, well worth the money
