Default Transmission issues with 2006 accord

Transmission issues with 2006 accord I have 192,000 miles and recently it feels like my transmission is slipping. It takes about 30 miles on the highway before the problems start. If I let it cool down for about an hour it will seem fine. Anybody have any related issues?

  • Which engine (I4, V6, or V6 Hybrid)?
  • How long since you've serviced the transmission fluid?

Hmmm, I believe the BAYA transmission in your car calls for service every 30,000 miles. It may be long past due for service, and as such, you'd be best served by performing what is referred to as a 3x3 ATF change. Basically you buy nine quarts of Honda DW-1 ATF, drain the transmission (about 3-quarts comes out), refill it, drive a bit, drain again, refill it, drive a bit more, and do a third drain/refill operation.

If that doesn't work there you can also try swapping out the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches (a common issue on Honda 5-Speed autos, but less so on the BAYA transmission in your car).

I think I have the same issue with my Accord 2006,V6 5AT I was driving on the high way at 80 m/hr and suddenly the car jerked and down shifted to 2nd and stuck on. CEL, D light and VSA light all came on blinking, swutched off the engine and started it again and I was able to drive for 3 mins without trouble the shifted normally and no blinking lights but then the same issue happened again.Parked at home I tried out a simple method to pull the codes by jumping the OBD 2 port using piece of wire. I got 2 codes from CEL and D light, one eaach.
CEL code 70
D light code 76
I had to change car battery and since the codes disappeared but the car still slips between gears though it has never down shift and stuck on low gears, please help

How frequently have you serviced the ATF in your transmission, and have you changed the third and fourth gear pressure switches?

I have always serviced the transmission after driving 40k km with DW1 oil , I even thought the issue was due to AT needing service but found out there is still 15k km till next service. I took it for computer check to get the codes but ui guess changing the battery has reset the codes already. i was advised to replace with remanufactured AT but i'm not sure anymore. changing the pressure switches only would be miraculous as the price for a reman is very expensive.

Another thread that's more technical than "welcome" so I'll move it to Gen-Tech.
