Default transmission slipping

My 96 accord 4cyl auto trans & A.C. i think the trans is starting to slip.It has 142000+miles on the engine. I think the fluid level is good, and does not smell burned. What is the problem? Is it a simple fix?

Can you describe when the transmission acts up, like during acceleration, any rpm range, speed, etc.?

Is the D4 light flashing? You should stop by a parts score and have them scan for codes, then post them on here. Your OBD2 connector is behind the ash tray. Post the actual code(s) here. They start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.

i found that drive shaft came out of trans. Reattached to trans put in trans fluid and problem solved. It was replaced by mechanic few days before trans started to slip.

AH, you didn't mention that in your 1st post. Glad you solved your problem though.
