Default Traveling electrical short?

1987 Accord LXI 298K. First the tail lights and the dashlights went out, for 2 days, then they came back on and still work. Then the headlights would not light, for 10 minutes, then they lit and are still working. Now the power to the fuel pump is intermittant when I turn the key. After the car starts it continues to run, the fuel pump does not stop working. What should I do? And thanks. Willa. Also, sometimes the cooling fan comes on by itself when the engine is cold and the car is off. I don't mean it runs with the car off for a while after the car has been running, I mean when the ebgine is dead cold, the fan sometimes comes on. Clues?

Check underhood fuses and fuse panel for defective fuses, damaged wiring, or loose wiring connections. Missing grounds might also cause this intermittent problem. Wiggling wires should allow fault to be found.

Fuel pump should come on and run for 2-3 secs and cut-off, when keyswitch is turned to ON. Pump will continue to run if engine is started. This is normal. If pump never comes on when keyswitch is turned to ON, then car will not start.

good luck
