Underdash and LED Strip installing DIY
#2
i have a 6th gen, that i'm very intimate with inside.
what LED strips do you have? link? how many? where do you want to put them?
can you do electrical wiring - i.e. have strippers, crimpers, electrical tape, switches, fuses, etc.?
the biggest part is determining where to put them and then running the wire, and securing the strips and the wiring.
most strips just have two wires that need 12V. so you can tap off an ignition wire, fuse it, and run it to a switch to control them. then wire from the switch to each strip positive, and ground all of the negative wires.
if you have strips that have a controller, it's more of a hassle since you're working with fixed wire lengths and a control box. but the process is still the same, you just wire to the control box from the fused ignition wire.
