Default Used Parts - Need Transmission Computer

My son has a 1992 DX 4 door sedan Accord, (110K miles)which he inherited from my wife. We bought it new.The automatic transmission is acting up by sometimes not shifting gears properly. It will stay in 4th gear all the time. Sometimes it won't do it for weeks, other times, it stays like that for days. It makes it very diffecult to speed up and the car only feels normal when at higher speeds. We're told replacing the transmission computer MAY cure it. Anyone heard of this as an issue? The part number is: 28100PX4722, but it costs almost $600 from the dealer and that is not installed. Is there a place to purchase used parts such as this?

The car runs great other than this (I kept good care of it). I've had the transmission filter replaced. We'd like the car to last another 2 years til he gets out of college. Any help would be appriciated.

I got an ECU from the junkyard for $85 so I'm guessing tey'll charge you that or cheaper... Install is straightforward:

1: Pull back fron passenger carpeting
2: Un bolt the kickplate (4) 10mm bolts
3. Unbolt the TCU (small gold box next to larger gray ECU) 10mm as well
4: Replace and plug in
5: Install reverse order.
