I have a 2008 V6 that has been great.

I read where the Aluminum engine is 360 pounds. What does the complete transmission add including the output shafts. Approxiamately.

If used what sensors would be a difficult problem to get around ?
Can I use fixed resistor values to satisfy the computer about things like fuel tanks & wheel speeds ?

My friend can do the water cooled exhausts & put in sensor wells for the O2 sensor.

I'm not trying to be mean, but this might be the strangest question that I have ever heard on this forum.

I think that will be a ton of work. Are you trying to attach the accord engine to a propeller?

 

Yes. The computer inputs & outputs are my concern. I have programed industral & modified programs of drives. I do not jump in without a solid set of DO & DO NOTS.

the o2 is going to be an issue post catalytic converter since you would not have a cat on a boat. You would have to control engine temp. The other issue may be the VSS. an 06 and up is I think a drive by wire throttle as well there is the prop question . can not see an overdrive trans being the hot ticket

 

Why would you want to use the transmission? How many propellers? What's the prop RPM?

If you keep the transmission, you'll have the VSS so then the PCM will be happy. Maybe you can lock up the differential (weld the spider gears?) & use only one output shaft? That assumes a reasonable match to the prop RPM.

Or if you need higher prop RPM, you could leave the differential alone; lock one driveshaft, & let the differential double the RPM of the other shaft.

Boats might not require cats, but they're not prohibited either. Keep em so the PCM is happy?
