Default Valve Clatter!

Ok guys I just had my motor rebuilt and it runs great. The only issue is that it has valve clatter and it's irritating. The motor only has 200 miles on it right now. The guy who rebuilt it said it would clatter for a little while as it's breaking in. I checked the valves myself and all are within spec. Should this be happening? Or should I worry? The motor didnt have this valve clatter before. Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.

Aftermatket cam? Stock pistons? Does it go away when the engine is hot?

It has the original cam and the pistons are new. It clatters all the time as it warms up its not as bad but its not much quieter. Thanks

Sounds like you're describing piston slap maybe. What pistons? Stock, aftermarket, cast, forged? What's the piston to wall clearance?
