What year/model of Accord do you have?

From what the techs on here suggest is to use the OEM spark plugs (NGK) that are in the owners/shop manual.

I remember reading that people had a harder time starting the car when they put in platnum or irridium plugs. They will last longer that the standard copper electrode, but I don't think that they will help performance. Plus, they are very expensive.

I have a 2001 Honda Accord V4. My brother thought changing those spark plugs with adding a cold air intake are some modest but usefull upgrades.

It's an inline 4, not a V4. V4's don't exist
Use NGK PZFR5F-11 plugs. They are the double platinums. They are the stock plugs that came with your car, but they are the best performing plugs. Honda stock plug wires are also thebest performing wires, so don't waste your money on "upgraded" wires such as MSD. Iridiums will not help you.
Buy a cheap intake off of eBay and put a good quality filter on it such as apexi, K&N, or AEM(Throw away the filter that comes with it).

your correct in saying its not a V4, however V4s do exsist, Ford made one(used by Saab), Lancia made one. and there are alot of motorcycles with V4s
