Side note: I have a very short drive (1.5 miles) to work and live in Canada...below freezing at night so yes I do let it run for about 5 mins before driving it. I don't want to get to work and shut it down before reaching full operating temp.
this will kill your mileage.

You won't have this issue in Canada, I suspect, but I moved from NJ to Houston about a year ago. Since the move, my mileage (mostly city) has consistently been 23 mpg. The last few weeks it has been cool in Houston, so haven't used the A/C. Result? The last two tanks have yielded 27 mpg! I knew using A/C all the time would affect mileage, but never thought it would be that big of a difference.

The f23 gets pwned by the aircon. I noticed my mpg is getting a lot better now that I don't run aircon.

It seems that I was a little hasty after I ahad first bought the car to claim that the mileage wasn't the greatest but...after a couple of highway trips, I am getting 27 highway. My old 92 Accord LX was getting 36 even when I had 270k on it. I guess the 01 Accord is just bigger and heavier.

Dont know if this is relevent but I drive cars hard e.g recent trip of 350 miles in just over three hours, but get better mileage than friends who have a lighter right foot.
Incidently, i get 36 m.p.g. from a 2 litre Accord,
