VSA - Explain ?
Seeking information on Vehicle Stability Assist featured on the Honda Accord. Could someone please explain (in layman's terms) how the system works? Is it always on unless the off button is engaged? Advantages, disadvantages?
Any and all comments and/or information is appreciated.
Thank you

The VSA helps the vehicle maintain control through a combination of transfer of power to the wheels and if you were braking at the time of going into a skid it will determine if it needs to engage the ABS, thus cutting the brake pressure on a given tire or tires to help prevent a roll over. Essentially, let's say for someone who is a good driver, they go into a skid they know to turn into the skid, whether to brake and if so how hard or to accelerate to prevent the roll over. The VSA essentially does all that for the driver. With it off the driver has to be aware of how to drive if the they are in a skid or taking a corner to hard to prevent a roll over.

If it is on then the computer should sense issues and adjust, if it is off then it is up to the driver. The problem becomes if the driver is well aware of how to handle a situation then there may be a conflict if the system is activated, but I have not heard of any such issues.
