Default VTec Configuration - Changable?

I have a 52-plate (2002) Accord Sport.

I'm pretty sure the vtec starts having affect when I hit 4,000RPM. Because I do a lot of motorway miles, I'm quite often coasting at 4,500-5,000RPM. Because of this, I'm using a lot more fuel than I need to.

My question is whether there is a way to change how the vtec works. Can I program is to not come on in 5th gear?

Thanks

Coasts at 5000 RPMs??!?!?!

As far as I know, a VTEC controller will let you do that... but as far as 5th gear only goes... probably not. Look up an APEXi VAFC-2, falkore24 has one for sale and knows more about it than I do.

Could just undo it all together.
