Default VTEC valve noise

Hey guys,

I just adjusted the valves on my 2001 2.3 VTEC, this morning there still was some top end noise after a cold start. How much valve noise is normal? Are the VTECs a little more noisy than the non VTECs?

Thank you.

Regards,
Mark

without hearing the noise I couldn't tell you if it's excessive or not. As long as you properly adjusted them (using the appropriate go/no go guages) it shouldn't be very loud unless you're low on oil or need an oil change

not that i am aware of ..

when you first start the car up,, valves might be a bit noisier till the rocker arm assembly is fully ,properly lubricated ,, but it should go aways within seconds
But like Nasty said ,, it is a noise that one would have to hear to advice if it is too much or common ..
