Default 2008 Accord LX-P ABS/VSA Lights on

Hey everyone,

I just purchased my 08 Honda Accord about 3 weeks ago. The weirdest thing happened. I came home from work, garaged the car, did my thing, and was ready to leave. Right after I started the car, after all the dash lights came on and went off, my ABS and VSA lights were still on. I called the dealer and they said something about a "Wheel Speed Sensor" needs to be checked. I got an appointment with them tomorrow. Is this a common problem with the Accord line? Let me know what your thinking. Thanks.

I'm thinking whatever it is, you got a warranty. Let us know what happens. There aren't many 2008's here yet.

Seems funny that they can tell it's a wheel sensor over the phone. Maybe that DOES hint that's it's a well-known problem.

Go to the dealer. jim is correct that there are very few 08s around...therefore very little knowledge on possible issues.

I just got off the phone with the service manager. He said that Honda doesn't have a service manual out for my car yet and the online version is incorrect. Another thing, his master tech is the only one certified to work on my car and will unavailable for two weeks. I know honda cars and service are reliable, but to have an electrical problem on a brand new car thats been around for a while, is ridiculous. I haven't had this car but three weeks and two of the major safety components are malfunctioning (ABS & VSA). Hopefully they can fix it, but for now it looks like I'm riding in a rental.

Wow what a bunch of crock..........A dealer only has 1 master tech ?? I find that hard to believe ,, they hould have planty of qualified techs who can diagnose your issue ..
They can always call tech line support to help guide them through the problem //

The dealer i used to work at ,of of the 7 techs 5 of us were master techs ...

Let me re-state what I said. The dealership has only one master tech that was certified to work on the 2008 Accords. They are working on getting the others certified on the new system. Because the certified tech is on vacation for the next week then goes through another week of training, he will be unavailable for service. They also told me that their tech line support is unavailable for some unknown reason. I am taking my car to a different dealer on Tuesday in hopes that they have the resources to fix my car.
