water pump bolt will not tighten
Iam replacing pump and putting back on. All other bolts tightened except the one that's about on the 5'oclock position as you are facing the pump from the wheel well. It's the one that is most easily accessible. When tighteining it feels like its beginning to tighten then it's loose again. All bolts from what i can tell are same size length and take a 10mm on the head to turn.. what could it be? I know it was tight when takeing it off and there was no water leak. Could it be that the hole is filled with old silicone? I know silicone is usually used to seal threads? What are my options? Am i missing someting? Please help. Its a 92 honda accord ex. Thanks for any tips or ideas.
Home Depot, Lowes, Harbor Freight, etc... should have tap and dye sets. The auto parts store will have them too.
You will need a metric tap. You can take the bolt with you to just buy the right tap.
Be careful when you are turning the tap, because the metal is brittle and can snap if you use a ton of force on it.
I am sure there are some YouTube videos showing how to use these.

If you use a HeliCoil, you have to use their proprietary tap. It's a bastard size that doesn't correspond to anything normal.
You tap out the hole to a larger diameter, but the same thread pitch. Then there's a tool to insert a steel "coil" into the enlarged hole. The inside of that coil forms the threads of the same size as original, so you can use the original bolt.
Google "HeliCoil" I'm sure you'll find information.
