i/d wait another year, maybe around 70-75 k
when doing it . do a t-belt kit,,,,,,,,,belt, pump, hydraulic tensioner, outer belt,
900 is a bit too much,, find a shop that specializes on Hondas, and make sure they use factory Honda parts,, cost should be around 650-700..

I would not wait, if it goes...its going to be definitely more then $900. Mine went @ arround 60,000 on my lancer, pistons 2 and 4 collided with the valves....sucked.
and the water pump......well when that goes the damage is not as bad, but to replace it you have to remove the timing belt and **** all over again.....not worth it. I think water pump is only like 60-70 bucks out of that $900 total.
Change it.

if water pump comes apart or seizes up.., it is basically the same thing as the t-belt coming apart,( jumping teeth, or could totally come off the pulley ) So damage could be bad...,,also pump on a v6 from Honda dealer is around $ 130 ...
I have done a crap load of timing belts,, 6-7-8 years old cars.and on the lower miles cars such as this,,belts can still go at least another 15-20k miles ,,
personally i would not use anything but Honda factory parts,, considering you do not need to it again for another 6-7-8 years and 70-80k miles ..''''

did he remove the covers and physically looked at the timing belt condition ??
also if you do a lot of city driving the miles on the odometer do not reflect the actual miles on the t-belt ,,,,,And last thing , there is also the age issue to consider not just the mileage
