weird robot sound and hard shifting
I have a 1996 honda accord lx 2.2l 4cyl 184xxx miles. It acts quite strangely (I think lol) it makes this high pitch whining sound and it feels like it should go faster for the rpms/gear its in. When it gets up into 3rd and 4th the sound lessens. And when going about 60mph the rpms stay around 3k wich seems a bit high and doesnt seem too good for gas mileage. Ive been researching what it could be and ive learned it could be something to do with the tranny or maybe I just need an ecu reset. I have videos of the sound and the rpms/acceleration. I will post links shortly. Idk what it is for sure so im asking here to get some insight on this. Thank (:

Any recent work on the car? It sounds like the timing belt is adjusted too tight. The tach/speedometer looks like mine on light acceleration, shifting into fourth just after 30mph. But 3K rpm @ 60 mph is too high. It should be 2200 - 2300 rpm. That could be a problem with torque converter lockup, but I wouldn't worry about it until the timing belt whine (or whatever it turns out to be) is fixed.
Thanks for the reply! (:
The previous owner had the timing belt changed not too long ago so that would make sense that it could be that
Other than that no work has been done on the car
ill most definitely look into the belt
