My wife took our 2005 Accord out this morning, drove great for about 4 miles. Cut the car off, got coffee, and when she back in and restarted that's when the problems started. Engine check light came on, high idle (~2K), throttle would not respond, but the cart would move forward. I was able to nurse the car home, however the throttle remained unresponsive. I seemed to shift ok. The car eventually coasted to about 30 mph. Upon getting the car home. I shut it off, restarted. All seemed ok. I drove it around the block, it drove fine. The engine light remained on. Anyone ever experience this. I'm at a loss. Thanking you in advance.

 

By the way this is a 4 cylinder, automatic.

 

Suggest getting the code(s). Many stores will do this for free, get the actual code from them and not their description. Code(s) will begin with "P" and four digits, P0420 for example.
