What is this component? IAR solenoid?
I recently bought this 1996 Accord with the 2.7L V-6 and just one of the problems I am sorting out with it now is this little device was just laying loose on top of the hoses and wires / brackets below it.
One of the hoses coming from the solenoid attaches to some sort of diaphragm device about 3" in front of it up under the throttle body, and this other port that can be seen in the photo is just empty with no hose. The solenoid is attached to what appears to be some type of accumulator tank of sorts too.
I might also mention that the car is occassionally setting fault code P0441 - I know this code is for "purge solenoid incorrect venting" or something but I don't know if this gizmo is tied in with that.
I looked in the service manual from Chilton, and also the Honda manual that I found a link for on this website but that one only shows 4 cyl engines so its not helping much.
Does anybody know where my missing hose should go to?

I don't think it's the frequency solenoid. I looked up the part number you gave me and it doesn't look the same at all.
I decided to take the component out so we could have a better look:
I think I will start searching to find out what hose #12 is for (my apology for not being able to say what exact component it was hooked up to at the moment)

Looks like I am getting somewhere now with a cross reference of the Denso part number I could still read on the component.

It appears to be a "Vapor canister bypass control switch". Now what I can't figure out though is still the same question - what's up with this empty port on top of the switch near the connector? Looks like the one in the picture below has a plug or something installed on it..

ok, Intake Air Bypass 36164-P0G-A00, either way I don't think a hose goes there.....
EDIT: Slow response, I see others chimmed in.....before I posted

Hmm, very interesting. It seems like mine is missing the "block off" plug then? I guess I should just block it off and find out if my fault code P0441 goes away?
Where did you find that diagram poorman? I am trying to pin down some more accurate diagrams and info for the C27A 2.7L engine.

Usually it is more of a cover not a block off, cover to keep "things" from getting in.
Thanks redbull-1 ......Look for online Honda dealers. I also have use of Mitchell manuals (I forget that sometimes) and used that to narrow down the vac diagrams, it didn't have to OE numbers but was able to follow enough to get close....hence the delay in the response.

I've looked around quite a bit at the easily found Honda parts suppliers online but didn't find anything at all like this. I will keep looking around some more. If anybody has any good suggestions feel free to post some links!
Thanks again guys.
