What does it take to fix the climate control cable?
It's a 1993.. I had to change it manually under the hood... I believe that's called the heater control valve??? But I am going to be selling the car, and people will probably make a "big deal" out of that if I don't fix it.
When it stopped working correctly, at first I could get it to change by moving it very quickly. But I'm pretty sure that the cable has broken.
Should I buy a new one, or try to salvage it?
Can I get to it fairly easily?
Thanks!!

You say it is not moving, so I can assume it does not have a broken end at the valve????
A few things you need to check.
Are you sure the **** is not broken....yes they break.
Then check that the blend door cable is moving...from the pass side floor board, look up at the bottom of the "heater/evap" case, might be a cover over it, can't remember on the 4th gens.
If that is moving be sure the heater control cable is attached to the "other" end of the blend door arm? is it?

The cable seems to be just completely broken.. Turning it doesn't do anything and there's no tension on it, but I can see that it's not broken at the hcv by the firewall. . . I don't care but if I ever want to sell it, I suppose I should fix that
