Default what does it take to dent your rim?

does it take a huge bump in a pot hole (or something similar) or does the rim get broken down over time (from bad road conditions) and eventually produces a dent?

for example....
you're driving down the road and you run into a pot hole as big as a watermelon and you get an instant dent
.....or
you drive down the same rough, bumpy, broken down road everyday, then your rim gets worn down and dents?

just worried about my rims, that's all

Your rims aren't going to bend unless they themselves make contact with a curb, pothole, etc. Your tires act as padding for your rims on rough roads so a rough road wouldn't causerims to bend.

Sidewalks. The same way you would scrach ur rims on a sidewalk, the same way you could dent them. Not just side walk, but curbs also. Its happen to me before, not on expensive rims, just stock. But it cud be cuz i may not be a good driver.

my understanding is you have to hit something like a pot hole. in my town if you fight hard enough you can get the town to buy you a new rim, if you get a picture of the pothole that "did the damage"

does it have to be the city that you live in, or can it be a city you are just passing through?

I had to replace 2 18 inch rims from potholes...dont know if it was because they were cheap or not (excel c5)...it really sucks when it happens because when u hit it you just feel the impact...then you wait like 5 seconds and the steering wheel shakes like crazy rom the unevenness and the air coming out of the tires
