Default What exactly do I have??

Hi all. I just aquired a 1991 Honda Accord LX. It was my younger brothers, and it got tboned by a crotch rocket, so he gave it to me.

Basically, my question is, what exactly do I have. I havnt looked under the hood for a while, but it's an automatic, and I believe SOHC. I know that it was bored out 40 thousandths a few years back when it was my grandfathers car, because the waterpump went out on the interstate and the motor overheated, but was basically rebuilt with a new head, etc.

I'd like to convert it to manual, run megasquirt and megaspark on it, and turbocharge it. My goal isn't too high IMO, 350HP. I've got a T3/T04B with v trim compressor wheel to put on it. I also have an FMIC from a previous project (400whp saab), and fuel injectors.

What exactly do I have (motor wise), and what other stuff do I need to accomplish my goal?

Default RE: What exactly do I have??

Your stock engine is an F22A1 pushing 125bhp and 137ft-lbs at a compression ratio of 8.8-1. bore 85mm and 95mm stroke. 16 valve SOHC. You can easily make it a manual. If you want to hit 300 on it you should overbore to 87.5, switch to lower compression pistons (8.4-1) as well as suitably modify the intake and exhaust.

or

you can rip out that f22 and throw in an h22 from prelude. it's 190-220bhp and 156-163ft-lbs, depending on if it's an american, japanese, or european engine. It's also DOHC and easier to modify up to the power levels you want.

you can go to www.cb7tuner.com for lots of great very specific advice and instruction on modifying your accord. SInce you are running the CB7 series Accords.

Best Accords Honda has ever made in my opinion
