Default from wheels to alloy rims

hello all, I am using accord 98 Lx, 2.3L, 4cylinders. I bought it in 2012. I am planning to change it to alloy rims. What benefits will i get in doing that. Generally, what are the advantages of using alloy rims in cars as compare to wheels. The mileage on the accord is 202,000. What kind of maintainance would you suggest to be done regularly on this car to still keep it on the road. Thanks in advance. Hoping to hear from you

Keep up with timing belt replacement. Also the fluids (engine oil and trans) and tune up items.

Lower unsprung weight typically yields better handling and braking, however, the differences are so negligible you shouldn't be able to feel them with your butt dyno. That said, if you move up from say 15" wheels to say 17" wheels (and keep the same overall tire diameter by going with a lower aspect ratio), the difference in handling will be immediately noticeable.
