Question Where to add transmission fluid to a 1996 V6

Hey I got a quick question. I just bought a 1996 Honda Accord EX V6 for my wife to commute with. I was checking all the fluids and noticed the transmission fluid was a bit low. I noticed the that dip stick was deep inside the engine and the hole for it was very thin. I checked the manual where it tells me what to add but not where to add from.
DO I need to purchase a special type of funel to add the fluid??
Thanks
Sal

Thumbs up

Ok thanks for the answer, I know it may have sounded silly and not many would have answered this. I just making sure there was not another fill port to add it, becuase that was the narrowist dip stick hole I ever seen for a a vehicle before.

I thought the V6 transmission DOES have a fill plug. But even so, it IS OK to add into the dipstick hole.

Remember, for Honda automatic transmissions (unlike most other cars) you check the dipstick with the car warmed up but TURNED OFF. Most cars (ford, chev) want you to check the dipstick while the engine is idling.

I don't know about all V6, but my 03 MDX has a fill plug on topside of trans housing, on drivers side near firewall. I

just changed my trans fluid last week. My plug was very tight and required an 18" x 1/2" breaker bar and significant muscle from my son to break w/ a loud crack. Bolt size as 17mm,...I think.

good luck

Cool

Thanks guys. I did find that fill port, was labeled ATF on top of the nut. It was very difficult to removed I was afraid of stripping or breaking it. So I added some through the dip stick tube which took forever.
