white caulking like materila in trunk

Default white caulking like materila in trunk
Hi,

I have a 2009 Accord. There is white caulking like material applied on theinterior of car trunk along the junction of metal. Does anyone know what is it for? Thanks.

It keeps water out or in which ever the case.
That is where the body seams meet, and if there was no seal water would get trapped in those seams and rust out the trunk
