Hi
I have a 1992 Honda accord coupe
it sat for a while in the country
I went to move it to my home so that I can work on it and open startup it's at WOT
It won't kick down
I opened the air/intake and found this. Freaking vermin! Anyway, I cleaned it and cleaned the throttle body (albeit halfass) It ran fine before being stored in a field. It blows a ton of blue smoke (after cleaning ish) and redlines.....the linkage doesn't appear to be binding......I'm gonna have it towed home on Monday to actually take the throttle body off and see what I can see..... on that note....any ideas?

Is the throttle plate closing? Or is it still wide open?

It's going to be towed to my house so that I can actually work on it tomorrow

I've pulled out the gunk......the hoses were toast.... got new ones.....haven't ventured further into the intake/motor
what say you?
Idk what I should do after cleaning throttle body....
If some (can't be all that much, fingers crossed) got pulled in further......how far do I have to delve ?

Now the boys call me I've taught them much....but the body ain't so willing and they're all busy,living their lives. Working etc....DAMMIT I I JUST needed ONE SON!! Lol

Yep, that would cause a few problems,, You also might want to chk all the wiring around the area and under the engine compartment those pac rats love to chew on wires .

Youll definitely needto get that nest out of the throttle body and clean up the bore. The question is did any nest get pulled past the throttle plate into the intake when trying to start the car?

I'd probably pull and clean the intake manifold. I think you can remove the your post of the intake on a 92 accord. It may be easier than pulling the whole manifold.

I'd also pull the valve cover to see if anything is blocking the intake valves. I'd also remove the spark plugs and use air to blow out anything that could have made it into the cylinder.

I guess the good news is that the valve cover needs a new gasket, anway?

 

I agree 100% with PA on this. Those rodents can cause all sorts of problems that you might not be able to see. Plus with it off, you can work on freeing up the throttle body, as it looks like there's part of the air clearner bits trapped in the pivots (might be what's holding it partly open).
