Default Wonky Idle Problem... 1991 Honda Accord

Hello guys, first time on the forum but this is really the first time i dont know where to start with this kind of problem. I appreciate all your help and yes, i did search to see if there was anything similar but could not find anything on the forum.. here goes..

While driving today my 1991 honda accord rpm's dropped to 0 but the car was still accelerating. Once i slowed down and came to a stop the idle was very rough and when accelerating the RPM needle was all over the place. Car would jerk while in a slower gear and i cannot stay in a slower gear for long. At times the needle would sit at 0 while going 100km per hour.

Finally made it home, let the car idle while i had a look under the hood, the car was idling very rough and stalled out.

Any ideas?

You will have to determine if you have lack of spark or lack of fuel.

If you have a timing light, see if there is enough spark the flash the timing light.

Also, are your maintenance items up to date like the distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs?

Car was given to me, i was told the distributor may need to be changed, also the plugs and wires had been changed for sure.
