Write up on how to diagnose "no spark" ?
Hello.
I have tried searching but came up with nothing.
My car stopped working. It cranks fine but has no spark.
Is there detailed instructions on how to perform testing to find the fault?
I would be very thankful if someone could help me.
I have a 97 non-v Tech Accord.
Plugs, cap, rotor, and wires are all about 15k miles old.
Thank you for your help!

Check the blue wire at the coil harness for tach signal with a test light. If light is dim or not existing then the ignitor is the probable cause. Depending on the mileage of the vehicle I recommend replacing them every 200k. They can fail before or after that, but they are one high priced little item that can leave you stranded in an instant. I just put a lower mileage used one in my 95 Accord wagon which has also 300k, thus I figured it was about time. At the shop I typically see them go bad betwee 175 and 250k but that is just based on what comes in to the shop. Good luck and welcome to HAF!
