I am trying to get all the necessary components to completely replace my 1985 Accord 1.8l, 4dr, 3brl carb, exhaust system, except for the stock manifold.

I was able to get everything I need except for the rear silencer (muffler).

I cannot find a replacement part anywhere but I have been able to get the front pipe, converter, center pipe, all BOSAL. I just cannot get this last part anywhere for the 4 door model of my car. I've tried and tried, no one has it in their warehouse.

Bosal - 278-161, and NOT 278-163 (3 door model) is the part I need.

I've tried getting a Walker replacement but they too are discontinued.



I'm out of luck and am reaching out to the AccordForum for some help and tips on what I should do.

I thought of maybe getting the 3 door Bosal muffler off Ebay and having it retrofitted to work with the 4 door model. If I remember correctly it is about a 8" difference in length. But I don't know if the bends are any different.

But, before I really consider going that route, I want to try here to see if anyone has any tips or leads on where to get that muffler assembly for my 4 door.

Does anyone have one lying around somewhere? Do you have a used one in good condition? Hoping to hear from someone.
