Default 2006 Accord EX 4 cylinder and K&N cold air intake

Is it really worth the price for doing this mod? It's right at $300 http:// www dot oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/KNN4/691209TS.oap?year=2006&make=Honda&model=Accord&vi= 1432618&pt=02425&ppt=C0280

I know I added a cold air intake on a 95 Accord 4 cyl. years ago, and i could definitely tell an improvement. But I only paid about $60 for it.

Is the K&N that much better than cheaper ones?

The only thing that K&N and other big name brands have are that they are compliant with all emmisions standards set by those states such as california... If you are not in one of those states, you are much better off buying a cheap cold air intake, and upgrading the filter to a K&N or a BMC or another top rated filter...

It depends on if you want to drive scared in the rain or floods. I know ppl personally that their engines have been shot do to water going in their engine b.c. of the cai. To not deal with all that, I just bought a k&n short ram for $260.

ppl there are such things as bypass valves!!!! All this hype about hydro locking has been solved! Look into it!....on another note vettking I’m gonna have to correct you on something. All of your name brand intakes have been specially designed for the max amount of air flow possible and most of them even create a "tornado effect" for even farther improvement of atomization to increase fuel economy along with performance. All big name brands spend countless hr. and money testing the products they are producing. I would say pick up a name brand intake ANY DAY over ebay crap with a K&N filter. Allot of the big name brands even use heat treated paint to keep down the intake charge...b/c no matter how you look at it your intake is gonna get hott from the under hood temps.

Yes bypass valves are there but cost $50+ to get, along with a heft price of a cai. Idk, I just bought a k&n sri and I love it.
