Default 97 Accord LC Exhaust Leak

Our '97 Accord failed inspection today for an exhaust leak. Its leaking at the connection as shown in the pics. I will be taking it in to be fixed, but I want to have an idea of what it will take to fix this. Can it just be pieced ? I really don't know and I do not want to get taken. All help appreciated...
...Mike

Easiest repair is to replace both upstream and downstream components. Not too difficult on Honda's. Buy good quality aftermarket or OEM components. This may be expensive as it appears the converter would need to be replaced.

It may be possible to pull the components, take them to an exhaust shop and get them to splice on a replacement flange connection. Exhaust pipe looks pretty good at most locations, however check to be sure there are not other weak sections that would cause a failure soon.

good luck

Default I like $40 repairs

Do I need to take it to a local independent for the low price repair, or do you think that'll work at the big 'M' brand or the 'S' catalog people's auto shop?

I donno what "big M or S" means but I would just find a exhaust shop. A shop that does nothing but exhaust and it should not run you more than $50 if they want more than that keep shopping b/c they are over charging you.
