Default Cai and Throttle Body

Ive been searching around different websites and forums and cant really get a definitive answer to this question, so maybe someone on here has the correct insight. I bought a AEM CAI a couple months ago for my 01 V6 Accord. I was just recently told that i should have bought a new throttle body or throttle body spacer to put on with my CAI or else its basically pointless for me to have one.

1. Is this correct?

2. If so, what do you guys recommend to buy?

Thanks

It is generally pointless to buy any CAI.

You just spent over $100 for 1-3 more HP

You do not need to waste any more money on a throttle body spacer as they are proven to give 0 HP

I just looked up the prices of those, OMG you didn't pay $300 for that did you?

I wouldn't pay more than $20 for one.

I have one on my car only because it was on a donor car that I bought for parts.

I installed it just for the look of it when you open the hood but it gives nothing for performance.

Well actually it does make your wallet lighter so I guess that could make your car a bit faster.

$40 you did good. They do look cool and give the car a growl at higher RPMS

Def do not buy the spacer, that does nothing at all, not even a cool sound.

Hondas generally don't have very restrictive intakes.

A low-restriction intake can only improve things to the extent that your stock intake is restrictive. Some makes of car it can be an improvement. (Just thought I'd throw in a bit of explanation)
