Cold Air Intake

Cold Air Intake
So I have a CAI with a 3" diameter K&N filter on the end. I've been trying to find sources of my throttle response loss. I think this may be a spot. The filter is pretty clean but I'm wondering if its too small or the pipe is too long. Its a 3" diameter pipe with this filter on the end:
Buy K&N Universal Rubber Filter RE-0930 The pipe does run in front of the wheel well but for now I have a flexible tube while I'm getting around to cutting an aluminum u bend myself.
Suggestions? Bigger filter? Shorter pipe?

It is not. This set up Ive actually had on there for a while. Its just that I've played around with filters and length of the pipes. I have not noticed a definite difference with these changes but there are many variables in my cars performance.

honestly, even if you had no pipe and no filter at all, you wouldn't notice much, if any, difference.. The only difference would be noise really.. take out the intake piping and filter on a dry day, see how it feels.. make sure no serious dirt gets sucked in.. see how the pedal feels.. it could something else with the car..
