Default Dirty Intake.

I've had my intake for quite some time and havent cleaned it before. I plan on doing so within the next two months, but how much can a dirty filter reduce gas mileage by? It seems my gas mileage is getting worse and I only have 82k on it. I filled it up, and now have put exactly 250 miles since the fill up, and my gas gauge is a smidge below the 1/2 point between Empty and a 1/4.

Could my I/H/E really have lowered it that much? I've WOT a couple of times, and havent really driven it that hard. Any ideas? Maybe its just the filter.

Gas mileage really depends on how u drive a car. A dirty filter will definately hinder gas milage too.

With your SRI changing the filter should be easy. They're cheap too so I'd replace the thing as regular as the oil. No sense to have a dirty filter.

yeah, I need to get the cleanign kit off eBay. Theres no way im paying $45 for another dryflow filter everytime!

wonder how dirty it is....

If I get 300 miles outta this tank, that means im averaging 25 mph...which is pretty bad.

Ha, I think 25 mpg is good for my car. But all my driving is city driving.

Ordered the cleaning kit from AEM....$17.99 w/ shipping......the $9 for shipping seems kind of ridiculous for two bottles. Companies these days.....

The shipping is getting bad for sure..sometimes I send out a pkg that doesn't weight even 1.8 lbs and it still cost $10-12 $ because that is minium pkg size rates..
