Exhaust is in pretty... weird shape

Exhaust is in pretty... weird shape
My muffler finally broke off of the pipe yesterday:
so now I've ended up with a weird 2.5" or 2.75" to 2.25" or 2" straight pipe from the cat back. It's quite carboned up on the inside as seen here:
Should I be worried about the amount of black in that pipe?
Also it is loud. VERY loud. Doesn't sound awful, but it sounds like fuel might be combusting in the tailpipe on shifts?
