Default Exhuast back pressure

I inherited a 2004 Accord EX V6Sedan w/30,000 miles on it. It is stock except for a AEM S.R.I. that I put on. I am going to put 18" rims on it and use it as a daily driver to work.My wife is crapping her pants over how much $ I am putting in to the silver bullet. I have purchased a skunk 2 Racing muffler and I have a question concerning back pressure. I am temporary cutting corners by going to a muffler shop and having them remove the entire dual exhuast (small diameter ) leaving one of the two resinators. The resinator staying is directly under the gear shifter and we will run 2.5" back to the skunk. I am not doing any thing to an O2 sensor so I am assuming I will not recieve any eng alarms. Will I be o.k. with back pressure is my main concern? Should I leave both resinators? Please respond with any suggestions.

From what I gather, your basically making your dual exhaust a single exhast? If thats the case, any idea what the stock piping diameter is and whether it's crush or mandrel bent? If the 2.5" pipe your installing is mandrel bent, I'd think you would be fine. If it's crush bent I'm not too sure.

Thanks for replying. Not sure of the differance from mandrel and crushed?I would have Midas do the work. What do they use or do I call around for a shop that does mandrel bending. New to all this so thanks again.

...from what I know, whatever your pipe diameter size should be formandrel bent pipe (lets say 2.5"), then if you have to use crush bent pipe you'd go up half of an inch (3"). The reason for this is because mandrel bends are uniform diameter the whole way through, whereas a crush bend will change. I don't think too many shops have the equipment to do mandrel bending. I'm not too sure on the stock piping diameter, but I'd guess you'd be okay with 2.5"-2.75" crush bent as long as you don't up your horsepower by too significant of an amount. Someone else may be able to shed some light on the exact pipe size that would work for you. If not, I'll do some more research and figure it out for ya.

Thanks again! If this was your car would you leave one or two resinators on it or remove them both?
I do not intend on doing any more mods to the engiene this year. Some day a turbo would be nice but I will do A full stainless cat back to match the turbo all at once. One more question with my manifolds the way they are would my headers have to be custom to accomadate a turbo?

I have always thought it would be cool to run a V6 and do a single exhast setup (one resonator and muffler)and take off the V6 badge but, thats just me. I've never heard of anyone doing this before so, I can't say with certainty what the major differences would be between a dual and singe exhuast setup on a V6. I'd think you would be fine with a bigger single pipe provided you don't use the same exhuast once you go turbo, then you'll more than likely need a dual setup or, quite a large single pipe...ground clearance would maybe become an issue.

For the turbo, you will need a different exhaust manifold (headers)called a turbo manifold. This is because of the way the turbo works, since it runs off your exhaust gases, your turbo has to be between the engine and the exhaust system, which is the place of the new manifold.
