Headers or Suspension Upgrade?

RE: Headers or Suspension Upgrade?
It all depends on what you use for your suspension. Not as much variance on the header in price. Don't forget to add in the cost of camber adjustments if you plan to drop more than an inch. I had to use the upper control arm type which are very expensive because the offset balljoints wore out in less than a year. i read that is a design issue in the 6th gen sedan. I'm not sure that you'd need them or if the standard kit would be ok. Also, when you are done dropping the car, you will need an alignment. If I were you, I'd probably save the money and wait until the end of winter, add another $500 to your budget (always better to plan on spending more and then having leftover pocket money) and do the drop right. Otherwise you'll look like a ghetto-cruiser with the wheels all ****-eyed and burn through tires like nobody's business!
The simpler and cheaper install is the header. Your money, your call. This is what I'd do though!

But think about how cool the handling is with negative camber!! I never did the camber plates on my 88 civic and thankfully didnt burn through tires tooooooooooo fast....a 40,000mile set lasted me about 29-30,000 usually but man that thing would rip the corners alive

more than 1 or 2 degrees isn't good. My sedan is able to hold 0.9 g's with a true alignment. More than a couple of degrees and you are sacrificing rubber on the pavement and that will cost you at high speed.

do the suspension......especially the coilovers as you can raise the rear slightly to cover the squat the rear gets when you launch...sorta like a traction bar type thing
the low end torque loss I dislike in anything with headers....I did a fulla race exhaust on my R1 (header, mandrel bend piping) and HATED it for a daily ridden bike....yea it screamed above 7000rpms....but I was so rarely above that just cruising down the road so I sold it and went back to a stock header and a slip on muffler (similiar to a catback exhaust)
