Default Heat Shield

I am thinking of removing my heat shield over the header to reduce a few pounds of vehicle. Just wondering if it would cause any surrounding components to overheat, or if it's OK to remove. Thanks

OK lol... After the 2 broken bolt heads and 3 hard earned minutes spent, the heat shield is not steel like all the domestics i've worked on, instead some kind of weightless aluminum... haha, jokes on me

You could always use that Great looking helmut as a heat shield...
