I also did this. Bought a SRI kit off eBay and I'm gonna stick a K&N Typhoon on it. Figure it saves me about $70-$10.

To answer your question, K&N website says the Typhoons will usually add around 10 hp. I would guess a little bit less than that (say maybe 7-9), since those data are prolly skewed a little and were taken during perfect conditions and whatnot.

Dont buy cheap if you can afford quality. You often get what you pay for.
This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard when it comes to intake systems. The only expensive peice you need is the cone shaped filter itself. The "intake" is a pipe. A pipe is a pipe whether you pay $10 for one that has no brand name on it or you pay $160 for the exact same pipe that says "K&N" on it.
Just because you can "afford quality" doesn't mean you're getting quality. It just means the manufacturers like K&N think you will be stupid enough to pay $160 for a plastic (or metal) pipe when you could get the exact same thing on eBay for $10.
First off, I made a generalized statement. Second, its obvious that you havent had the experiences that I have with cheap stuff, like... an ebay intake. And thats fine. I willagree with you on the matter of not needing to dump a bunch of money into an intake. However, I stand by my statement. And lets notopen the "dumbest thing ive ever heard" can of worms. Im only giving my opinion and advice. I need not be insulted. Good day.
