When I look around at Headers and Exhausts (especially on Ebay), I see some that are for EX models only and some that work for DX, LX, and EX. What is the difference in the exhaust setup between an EX and an LX?

 

Same thing goes for the exhaust.I always wondered the same thing, but the EX has 15 more hp than our lower versions, so I think the engine and exhaust port setup is different.

 

well, i know the EX is VTEC and LX isn't but i didn't think that it would affect the set up for the exhaust...also is there any difference in the exhaust piping between the sedan and wagon?

 

if the parts fit more cars than the manufacturers list then they are costing themselves sales. Since everyone wants to make as much money with the least effort, if the parts fit your car, the manufacturers would say so.

That's cause you have a 99 model (6th gen.)
94-97 (5th gen)LX's were not vtec. only the EX's were.
The only non-vtec 6th gen is the DX model.
