I had to have my ecm/pcm reflashed for my specific model to make the dreaded p0420 code go away. Dealer and many others told me not to put any other cat on my car except the one specifically for my model $800+. Luckily the reflash fixed my cat problem and I didn't have to replace it but I've heard it's not a good idea to put an aftermarket cat (not OEM) on any honda unless it's older than like a 99.

Aftermarket cats aren't made the same as OEM, that's why they're cheaper. I personally would've just spent $10 on a pair of 18mm spark plug defoulers to pull the O2 sensor out of the exhaust stream, that's how I got rid of my P0420 (we don't have tailpipe emissions testing).

An ECU reflash must've been waaay cheaper than a new cat. How much did they charge you?

What you read about the Magnaflow Catalytic Converter is correct it really delivers smooth service but I wonder what caused the smog smell. Did they install it the right way?

This is cool i thought magnaflow only creates exhaust/ mufflers. I just figured it out in here that they also create high performance catalytic converters. So now guys how is your cat converters? I just wanna make a research first before buying this thing. not really a low price.
Please reply guys i wish i could revive this thread.
