Quiet exhaust system (performance )
Now I have very little knowledge about exhaust systems. I am looking for a quiet exhaust system that performs almost like performance exhaust systems. Also, what is a “Cat-Back Exhaust System?” Is it just the rear muffler/silencer with rear pipe? Or is it a middle muffler/silencer + pipe, and a rear muffler/silencer + rear pipe? I have a 92 Honda Accord DX sedan My problem: Everything past the catalytic converter is rusty. My rear muffler/silencer already fell off. The middle muffler/silencer pipe is almost about to fall off. Budget:$ 400 Where do you guys shop on the internet for these products besides ebay?

RE: Quiet exhaust system (performance )
Tip: Search. There was a quiet exhaust thread a while back. You're probably going to get either GReddy SP2/EVO or Apexi WS2 for an answer.
Cat-back: The answer is in the name: it's an exhaust from the catalytic converter on back. Other types are axle-back and just a regular old universal muffler.
A $400 budget isn't much for an exhaust system, but you could have an exhaust shop bend up a custom 2.5" system for you...

RE: Quiet exhaust system (performance )
The exhaust has nothing to do with speed bumps .... if you're riding slammed, you're going to have problems with them. I had a WS2 for over 3 years and it outlasted the tranny.

how is the WS2 with speed bumps? Are the pipes rust resistant?

Cat-back
For me not being a car person I don't know nearly what I should about cars. Whenever I have a problem or question I have to ask someone. When it comes to the exhaust and the exhaust system I don't really know anything about it but I learn quickly especially if I see it visually. Thanks for the the help. If you want help figuring out the difference between an axle-back, cat-back exhaust systems check out the following exhaust guide (URL deleted) because it really helped me figure what the heck the difference was.
