hmmm....very intersting
well unfortunately I don't have enough money to purchase SRI nor CAI
so I just remove the black air box in front of the passenger side (behind the bumper of course)
so it's just a bootlegged SRI lol at least I don't have to worrk about heat soak
(I don't see much difference yet it has only been a week)

You won't notice any difference in power or gas mileage. Intakes simply don't add power, just better flow and louder noise.

you know you can get a cheap one off ebay, and just replace the cone with a k &n
eventually the pipe will get hot sooner or later
I did the same thing and it's probably the only engine mod I will do prior to a full build.

I have a K&N air filter...all I notice is a slightly more responsive that's all & of course louder

Just fyi, the air is the same temperature regardless of the type of material..At the end of the day, its basically the same thing.
