So about a year ago I installed a cheap eBay air intake on my 07 2.4l accord. When I first installed it, I had a brain fart and put the mass air flow sensor on backwards and of course it shut off my car. But once I installed everything on the right way, I started to notice little subtle changes to the way the car ran. The car ran fine and I had no issues whatsoever but the stuff I noticed is the tachometer is reading 500 less than accurate. I connected a OBD reader to it and the RPMS at idle are at 790-810 but the tachometer reads 300-400. Also I had an 00 accord and when I installed a short ram in that one, the sound of it was louder and I could actually hear a “ssssss” from it. But not from my 07 accord. But the BIGGEST thing about the air intake is when I put in a universal K&N air filter, it completely made my car run awful. Like the car was really sluggish and it even shut off on me once. It seems to act this way with any air filter that’s universal and has those different size rubber fittings. I want to know if anyone has had this same experience and if they were able to fix the problem and keep the short ram.
