03 Honda Accord 4 cylinder manual transmission engagement issues
I just recently replaced the clutch on my 03 Honda Accord I also replace the slave cylinder and the master cylinder when I turn the car on and try to put it in gear it doesn't do anything I turn it off put it in gear start it and it tries to take off the clutch is not engaging or properly or releasing properly I need to know what I can do next somebody please help me I can't figure this out
My first thought is there's still air in the clutch hydraulic system and you need to bleed it more. Did you bench-bleed the clutch master cylinder? If not, that usually means it's gonna take a lot of fluid pumping through before you get all the air out.
Air in the clutch usually results in the slave cylinder not moving through it's proper stroke. Have someone in the drivers seat to press the clutch pedal down. The outer part of the fork should move about 10mm. If it moves less, then after pumping a couple times then it moves 10mm, that's air in the system.
Another possibility is the clutch disk is backwards. The hub of the clutch disk sticks out further from one side, and if it's in backwards it won't disengage completely.
Another possibility is the throw-out fork is cracked, or it isn't sitting properly on that little ball that acts as a pivot.
BTW, the clutch is not disengaging. You press down the pedal to disengage, & lift up the pedal to engage.
