Almost Accord owner
Hoping to be an Accord owner soon but it's been a pretty long road, still driving an off-brand. Long story short, I signed papers and handed over a check for a 2012 Accord EX-L 6 cyl/6 spd coupe last year. After an absurdly long wait for the wash/prep, turns out the car was scratched pretty deeply so I refused the car.
Fast forward to yesterday, I test drove an Accord Sport sedan 6-speed. Certainly not the same as the 6 cyl but a very nice car nevertheless. Really well done, I'm actually glad the 2012 did not work out. But I'm just having a hard time living with the idea that this beautiful car does not come with a sunroof and it cannot be ordered with one.
So I'm told I can get a sunroof in the EX. But I can only have silver or grey if I want to keep the 6-speed. I thought moving up in price to the EX would also give more color choices than the 2 colors I get in the Sport (black or grey) I've already been driving a grey car for the past 5 years, so no more grey or even silver for me.
It comes down two the lesser of two evils. A CVT (I can't stand not having a manual tranny for the past 5 years) or no sunroof (they offered an aftermarket installer - pass). Now trying to convince myself to spend money on an Accord that I'm willing to compromise with instead of an Accord that I really want.
I wonder what the chances are of a sunroof being offered in the Sport next year. Won't hold my breath.
